Success Habits in Rare Air<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s a reason nearly 300 guests showed up to hear from Ryan Poles. Very few leaders operate under the kind of constant scrutiny and performance pressure that exists in the NFL. And yet, Ryan\u2019s leadership is rooted in humility. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The people around Ryan, who observe his leadership daily, shared three success habits that guide his team and ensure accountability is a shared commitment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  2. Give Exposure and Experience:<\/strong>\u00a0Ryan creates opportunities for his staff to\u00a0see<\/em>\u00a0what leadership looks like up close. Accountability gets stronger when people are trusted with visibility and experience.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Hire Well\u2014Character Matters:\u00a0<\/strong>Talent is essential, but character is non-negotiable. Ryan hires people who are coachable, resilient, and passionate. The Bears\u2019 GRIZZLY model, focused on traits like dependability and pain tolerance, helps guide hiring decisions with culture in mind.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    When asked to define healthy accountability, Ryan didn\u2019t hesitate. His answer was clear:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Set clear expectations, take ownership, be selfless, and offer truthful feedback.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Ryan\u2019s story reflected his belief in healthy accountability. And sometimes giving truthful feedback is tough. \u201cSome situations break your heart,\u201d he said, \u201cbut clear your vision.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
