By now, you know this blog is all about spreading goodness in leadership and business. <\/em>By \u201cgoodness\u201d we mean people who promote excellence<\/em>, demonstrate generosity<\/em>, model fairness<\/em>, live and work with consistency<\/em>. We coach leaders, publish books and tools, and host Good Leadership events \u2013 all designed to help powerful people work together, multiplying goodness for the common good.<\/p>\n

So far, so good!\u00a0 More than 2300 people have visited the Good Leadership Breakfast.\u00a0 And with the help of our generous sponsors, we\u2019ve collectively raised more than $17,000 for a wide variety of organizations through the Bucket of Good Will.<\/p>\n

You may be asking yourself: what does a middle-aged white male have to say about \u201cleading in a multicultural context?\u201d<\/em> It\u2019s because we can\u2019t truly spread \u201cgoodness\u201d without modeling fairness ourselves.\u00a0 When I look honestly at our world today, I see a biracial President of the United States! The greater Twin Cities talent pool is changing everyday.\u00a0 Case in point: my two nephews Birch and Ade are the offspring of my German sister and their African American\/Native American father.\u00a0 We need a future where my nephews \u2013 and people of all ethnic backgrounds \u2013 will chose to live and work here.\u00a0 It’s vital to the health of Minneapolis\/St. Paul.\u00a0 And it’s a matter of excellence, generosity, fairness and consistency. It’s about goodness.<\/p>\n

The Hubert H. Humphrey Center for Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota is already booked and paid for.\u00a0 The Breaking Ice Troupe is the featured main stage event, along with the world premier of the How Leaders Grow Today research \u2013 jointly sponsored by Dale Carnegie Training and me. \u00a0\u00a0You will find three intensely invigorating workshops and terrific networking.\u00a0 And you will be personally invigorated by our relentlessly positive message about goodness.\u00a0 How can you resist!?<\/p>\n

Good leaders make a habit of making bold strategic moves based on good faith, in the name of goodness.\u00a0 And they surround themselves with good leaders to help drive out the risk.<\/p>\n
